Carlo Berti

Carlo Berti is a María Zambrano fellow in the Department of Communication Studies at Universitat Rovira i Virgili. Previously, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the School of International Studies, University of Trento. His current research activities focus on populism and anti-populism in the European Union, and the relationship between journalism and populism. His work has been published in international journals such as Journalism Studies, Media Culture & Society and New Media & Society. He is the co-editor (with Carlo Ruzza and Paolo Cossarini) of The Impact of Populism on European Institutions and Civil Society (Palgrave, 2021). He obtained his Ph.D. in communication studies from Auckland University of Technology.
