Carlo Maria Rabai

Carlo Maria Rabai earned a master’s degree in cinema, television and multimedia production at the University of Bologna, Italy, with a dissertation titled ‘Awakening film archives: Peter Jackson’s They Shall Not Grow Old and the new trajectories of historical memory’. He earned a bachelor’s degree in the humanities at the University of Pavia, Italy, with a dissertation entitled ‘Casey Neistat, man with the movie cameras: Technologies, vision forms, fandom’. He is also co-founder and editorial director of Birdmen Magazine (, an Italian magazine that specializes in cinema, TV series, theatre and digital media. It was founded in 2015 and functions not only as a webzine but also as a publisher of paper editions, rich in detailed studies. He has been an editorial assistant, translator and researcher for the Journal of Italian Cinema & Media Studies since 2019.
