Carmen Pereira Stallaert

Carmen Pereira Stallaert is currently project manager at the Institute for Research and Education on Negotiation at the ESSEC Business School in Paris. She has a master’s degree in Latin American studies from the University of Salamanca and the University of Paris-III Sorbonne Nouvelle (international double-degree). She has previously worked in international institutions based in Brussels, including the European Institute for Research on Mediterranean and Euro-Arab Cooperation (MEDEA), the Anna Lindh Foundation and the Latin American Association of Organizations for Development Promotion (ALOP). Her research interests include the relations between Latin America and the Middle East, political economy and international relations. An earlier draft of this article was presented as a paper at the VIII Congreso Internacional del Consejo Europeo de Investigaciones Sociales de América Latina (CEISAL) in Salamanca, 2016.
