Carolina Rueda

Carolina Rueda received her Ph.D. in Latin American literature and cultural studies with a focus on Latin American film from the University of Pittsburgh in 2012 with a dissertation focused on contemporary urban settings and their functions in the production of social meaning in Latin America. She is currently working on a book manuscript on urban Latin American cinema in the new millennium. She has also worked on film and television production and co-founded LatinEyes, a television programme focused on breaking stereotypes of Hispanic people living in the United States. In 2005, while living in Colombia, she co-produced the fiction film Visitas (2005), featured in eight international film festivals. Presently she is working on her short film Oklahoma Mon Amour, which takes place between Puebla, Mexico and a town of Oklahoma in the United States.
