Caroline Astell-Burt
Caroline Astell-Burt has master’s degrees in performance arts from Middlesex University and theatre studies by research from Royal Holloway, and a doctorate with a focus on Japanese otome bunraku from Loughborough University. Her training was as a stage manager at London Opera Centre and as a scenic artist at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. She has worked for many years as a professional puppeteer, stage-designer and director of studies at the London School of Puppetry where she co-taught with choreographer, Wendy Cook. She enjoys teaching, performing and demonstrating on the use of puppets in education and therapy and Japanese otome bunraku and paper theatre.
