Caroline Fache

Caroline Fache is an associate professor and chair of the French and Francophone Studies Department, Bacca Professor of Humanities at Davidson College, North Carolina. She has published on Métissage, the study of biracialism, multiculturalism in French literature and cinema. Additional research and teaching interests include modern Francophone literature, cinema, Black Paris, and the representation of immigrants in French media. Her most recent publication, ‘Beur and Banlieue television comedies: New perspectives on immigration’ in Reimagining North African immigration, (Manchester University Press 2018) analyses whether television comedies serve the cause of immigrants and people linked to immigration. Her current book project looks at the most recent portrayals of French immigrants in new TV comedies and how they deconstruct or reinforce existing stereotypes.
