Carolyn Cooper
Carolyn Cooper is the author of two influential books on Jamaican popular culture: Noises in the Blood (1993) and Sound Clash (2004). She is the editor of the award-winning collection, Global Reggae (2012). She initiated the establishment of the Reggae Studies Unit at the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica and served as its coordinator for more than a decade. She writes a bilingual column for the Sunday Gleaner in Jamaica and makes frequent interventions in the local and international media. Most recently, she presented the programme, Jamaica: The Music of Time on the BBC World Service.
