Chari Arespacochaga
Chari Arespacochaga is a director for theatre, multi-media and live performance. She is also a professor in the School of Theatre at Florida State University. Chari’s theatrical direction credits include Marisol, the world premiere translations of Fumiko Enchi’s Restless Night in Late Spring and A Hell of Her Own, Coin Toss by Alexis Sims, Long Distance Affair, The Motherf**ker with the Hat, In The Heights, Birthmark (world premiere) Love’s Labour’s Lost the Musical, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Little Shop of Horrors, Amadeus and Stupid Kids, 9 Minutes. She has also worked with Susan Stroman in the Vineyard Theatre’s production of Dot, and with Jeff Whiting in NYMF’s Single Wide through the SDCF. She continues to work as the director of creative development of several projects as part of a deep commitment to revolutionizing how theatre can be created, taught and disseminated towards a truly anti-racist theatrical landscape.
