Charissa Noble

Charissa Noble is a musicologist, vocalist and currently teaches musicology and music history at the University of San Diego. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of California at Santa Cruz (2019) and her MA in music history at San Diego State University with a secondary emphasis in twentieth-century American art (2013). Her research interests include avant-garde music in early twentieth-century coastal California, experimental singing and the overlap between experimental voice and electronic sound. Charissa also actively participates in the local arts scene in San Diego and serves as the executive director of San Diego New Music.
