Chloe Chapin

Chloe Chapin is the assistant director of course development at the Derek Bok Center for teaching and learning at Harvard University. She holds a Ph.D. in American studies (Harvard University) and master’s degrees in history (Harvard), fashion and textile studies (FIT) and costume design (Yale School of Drama). Collectively, the three authors hold six master’s degrees and a Ph.D., and have taught at twelve different institutions over a combined 50 years of teaching. We have designed over three hundred professional productions, including eight Broadway shows and 100 educational productions. We have managed costume shops, supervised wardrobe and hair and makeup departments, and received training in dress construction, patternmaking, life drawing, digital rendering and puppetry.
