Chong Ching Liang
A former broadcast journalist for Newsradio 938 (now 938Live), Ching Liang has also worked as a social worker with Katong Special School, an oral history researcher with the National Archives of Singapore and a labour researcher studying Thai migrant labour for the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies. Ching Liang may seem like the proverbial rolling stone that gathers no moss. However, all these past jobs have a common thread: his penchant for peoplewatching and his optimism in society’s potential to solve inequalities. Ching Liang challenges his students to look beyond the surface of issues and to discover the impact that these invisibles pressure have on the Singapore society. He does this because he has the firmest of beliefs that his students will uncover the solutions for our future.
