Chris Comerford
Dr Chris Comerford is a lecturer in communication and media at the University of Wollongong. His research covers an array of topics in digital and screen media developments, fan cultures, serious leisure and digital pedagogies. His current project is an analysis of television’s shifting cultural, social and industrial boundaries in the streaming era, as well as how reconfigurations of television and other screen media are understood and explored by creators and audiences. Most recently, he has published the book Cinematic Digital Television: Negotiating the Nexus of Production, Reception and Aesthetics (Routledge, 2022). Additionally, Chris has published on topics such as the use of superheroes as lenses for legal and moral interventions on jurisprudence, the benefits of video game play in Animal Crossing during COVID-19 and the creation, exploitation and archival use of fan-made wikis in understanding popular culture franchises.
