Chris Jones

Chris Jones has been both a practitioner and an academic. His experience includes nineteen years as a senior academic in the United Kingdom, five as the dean of the Faculty of Hull School of Architecture at the University of Lincolnshire and Humberside (now the University of Lincoln) and five as head of Hull School of Architecture. He formed ABC Architects Hull in 1984, not for profit, Cooperative and built a number of Community Projects for which he won the AD Award. Working with the wider community since the 1970’s he has been a leading practitioner in social engagement in architecture including chair of the Association of Community Technical Aid Centres and work with Governors Design Teams in the United States, Community Design Action Teams and Housing Action Trusts in the United Kingdom and Holland. His research relates to design quality, the use of offsite prefabrication and teaching methods in building technology.
