Chris Lanier
Chris Lanier is a teaching professor of digital art at the University of Nevada, Reno. He has worked in a variety of media, including multimedia performance, digital animation, web production and comics. His work has been displayed, performed and projected in New York, San Francisco, Japan, Canada, Britain, Mexico and Serbia; his animation has screened at Sundance, and won the Grand Prize for Internet Animation at the Ottawa International Animation Festival. He is also an essayist and critic whose art criticism has appeared in a variety of online and print publications, writing for The Believer, HiLobrow, Furtherfield, Double Scoop, the San Francisco Chronicle and the Capital City Arts Initiative. He was awarded the position of Reno City Artist in 2024, and received a fellowship for literary writing by the Nevada Arts Council the same year.
