Chris Murray

Professor Christopher Murray is chair of comics studies in the School of Humanities, Social Sciences and Law at the University of Dundee, Scotland. He leads the M.Litt. in comics and graphic novels course and is director of the Scottish Centre for Comics Studies and Dundee Comics Creative Space. He also teaches English, film studies and science fiction. He is co-editor of Studies in Comics (Intellect) and UniVerse Comics. He has published on comics and propaganda, British superheroes, educational comics, and comics and adaptation. He has produced several comics for research and engagement purposes, including a number of healthcare comics and adaptations of science fiction, such as Odd John by Olaf Stapledon (with artist Helen Robinson) and R.U.R. by Karel Čapek (with artist Nick Johnson).
