Christian Karner
Christian Karner is professor of sociology at the University of Lincoln. Prior to this, Christian was Leverhulme Special Research Fellow, associate professor at the University of Nottingham, and he has spent periods as a (senior) visiting researcher at the Universities of Minnesota and New Orleans, at Panteion University in Athens, Greece, and at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland. Christian has researched and published widely in the areas of ethnicity and nationalism, globalization, urban multiculturalism, memory studies and Central European and Austrian studies. His most recent, single-authored books include Sociology in Times of Glocalization (Anthem Press, 2022) and Nationalism Revisited: Austrian Social Closure from Romanticism to the Digital Age (Berghahn Press, 2020). Christian is co-editor in chief of Sociological Research Online.
