Christine Yu-Ting Hung

Dr Christine Yu-Ting Hung is originally from Taipei, Taiwan. She received her Ph.D. in Chinese/cinema studies at Western Sydney University, Australia. She is currently a lecturer in the Chinese programme at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Japan. Prior to coming to Japan, she was teaching in the Chinese Department at Macquarie University, Australia. Her research interests include cultural studies, gender studies, film aesthetics and postcolonialism, with a focus on Asian cinema. She is the author of the article, ‘Are women included in history? The debate of micro-history and macro-history in Hou Hsiao-hsien’s film, A City of Sadness’ (2014).
