Christopher L. Thomas

Christopher L. Thomas is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of English at Old Dominion University. His research is heavily influenced by postcolonial literature and theory, more specifically the Black Atlantic, notions of blackness and solidarity throughout the African diaspora. In addition to these items, he has developed a fascination with diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), with respect to how it has been co-opted as a vehicle for feelings as opposed to serving its true purpose, which is to provide individuals of colour with the support they need to be successful. This particular initiative is turning into a place for the dominant culture to deposit their feelings without actually doing things to help folks of colour in their efforts to prosper academically, socially and economically. This is where the idea for this project has come from.
