Christopher Zysik

Christopher Zysik is a Ph.D. candidate in music at Paderborn University. He has completed his MA in popular music and media in 2016 and BA in musicology and philosophy in 2014 from Paderborn University. His scholarly interests include East Asian popular culture and East Asian popular music studies, idol culture, postcolonial studies, aesthetics and theories of power. His most recent research focus is the interdisciplinary analysis of commodity aesthetics in Japanese music phenomena and their role in deconstructing power relations.
