Clair Le Couteur

Clair Le Couteur (they/them) is a non-binary research artist, folk singer and independent scholar whose work explores voice and the fictive, entangling fact and fiction, research and creation, tradition and contemporaneity. Clair makes transmedia assemblages including lecture performances, museum installations, academic publications and musical recordings. Their award-winning ‘broken folk’ duo Lunatraktors performs in a wide range of venues including music festivals, museums, theatres and galleries. Clair teaches research-based practice, performance, writing, critical theory and voice studies for postgraduate courses including the Royal College of Art, University College Cork, Goldsmiths and Open School East.
