Clare Irvine

Clare Irvine is a creative and performing arts lecturer in the School of Creative Industries at the University of Newcastle. Prior to this, she was the research coordinator at the University of Melbourne, where she managed a thirteen industry partner ARC Linkage Grant and was the Researcher and Manager on consultancies with the Arts and Education sectors of the Victorian Government. She has held positions with the Australia Council for the Arts and local state government, and her creative practice focuses on contemporary arts practice with children and young people. More recently, she was a researcher and a community strategic planning officer for The Smith Family, where she developed a School Readiness Plan based in the methodology of collective impact for Aboriginal families starting school. The program is funded by the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet. Clare’s Ph.D. focused on innovation in Australian cultural policy and arts practice.
