Dallas John Baker

Dr Dallas Baker is an associate professor in writing and publishing in the School of Creative Arts at the University of Southern Queensland. He has published dozens of scholarly articles and creative works, including a book of travel writing, America Divine: Travels in the Hidden South (Phosphor Books, 2011), and a fantasy fiction duology, The Faeden Chronicles (Black Phoenix Publishing Collective, 2016), under the pen name D. J. McPhee. He has also published a number of short scripts, notably three in TEXT: Journal of Writing and Writing Courses, a peak journal in the creative writing discipline. His study and research intersect with a number of disciplines: creative writing, publishing, media and cultural studies. His current research interests are memoir and memory, scriptwriting, publishing and ‘self-making’ in cultural practices such as creative writing and reading.
