Danica Evering

Danica Evering was born in Cobourg and lives in Hamilton. Through writing, sound composition, research, and curation, she thinks through difficulty and belonging, reaching out intentionally, and complicating narratives. Informed by four years of fieldwork, her MA thesis project in Media Studies from Concordia University troubled power dynamics and boundaries in social practice through situated ficto-critical writing, conversations with practitioners, and theoretical texts. She works as the Education Officer at Humber Galleries. Recently, her poetry and performance were included in Althea Thauberger’s experimental video work L’arbreestdanssesfeuilles as part of In Search of Expo 67 at the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, and she participated in a sound-mapping exchange between Montreal and Morecambeprogrammed by the Centre for Mobilities Research at Lancaster University.
