Danielle Ridolfi
Dr Danielle Ridolfi is an illustrator, designer, visual culture scholar and is serving as a guest editor of an upcoming volume of the Journal of Illustration. Her studio work includes children’s picturebook illustration and publication design. Her first self-authored picturebook has been acquired by a major publisher and will reach market in fall 2025. Her research centres on the pedagogical use of images, collage as an object-based practice, and the legacy of racism and colonialism in illustrated children’s media. She earned an MFA in illustration and visual culture from Washington University’s Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts and a doctorate in psychology from Kent State University. She is currently a lecturer in children’s studies and communication design at Washington University in St. Louis.
