Danielle Taschereau Mamers

Danielle Taschereau Mamers is an Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto’s Jackman Humanities Institute. She has recently completed a PhD in Media Studies at the University of Western Ontario. She is an interdisciplinary researcher working across the fields of media studies, visual studies, and decolonial political theory. Her dissertation, Settler Colonial Ways of Seeing, analyzes documentary techniques used by the Canadian state to govern the visibility of Indigenous lives and identities, as well as how such techniques are disrupted by the interventions of Indigenous artists. Her postdoctoral research explores political and cultural relations mediated by bison.
