Danqing Chen

Chen Danqing is a painter, writer, critic and director of the Muxin Art Museum. In the early years of artistic career, his series of works Tibetan Series Paintings (1979–80) has been generally recognized as a milestone of Chinese art history in the post-Mao era. As one of the most influential writers in China today, Chen’s books have been popularly read, including Niuyue suoji (Notes from New York), Duoyu de sucai (Excess Material), Tuibu ji (Regressive Collection), Tuibu ji xubian (Regressive Collection Sequel), Huangfei ji (Desolate Collection), Waiguo yinyue zai waiguo (Foreign Music in Foreign Countries), Xiaotan daxiansheng (Talking about Lu Xun), Guiguo shinian (Ten Years after Returning to China), as well as Caocao ji (Hasty Collection), Tanhua de nizhao (The Swamp of Conversation), Wuzhi de youli (The Journey of Ignorance), Zhang Fo yu Mu Xin (Zhang Fo and Mu Xin) and so on.
