Danton Derksen

Danton Derksen (B.EnvD) is a White settler man living and working on Treaty 1 Territory. He is a designer and project manager at 2 Architecture, based in Winnipeg, and currently pursuing his Master of Architecture at the University of Manitoba. His research area of interest lies in uncovering the hidden/forgotten/repressed histories of marginalized people, specifically those of the queer community, and exploring ways that we can reintegrate those narratives through the built environment. Growing up in rural Manitoba, he fostered a love of gardening that seems to always make its way into his creative pursuits. He also enjoys designing temporary public art installations, camping, patio season, and making the most of the short Winnipeg Summer.
