Danyu Peng

Danyu Peng, with a Bachelor of Laws and Master of Science, majored in sociology. Peng graduated from the University of Edinburgh, and their current academic interest is in nationalism, political sociology and culture. Peng has worked on the situation of nongmingong’s children in China and kids from rehab families. Peng’s main focus is how social imaginary contributes to the construction of national unities and how government is using it to enhance the concept of a sense of unity based on Anderson’s work, especially in the Chinese context. Peng also works on subculture and its intertwined interactions with government and how nationalism is expressed in subcultural communities.
