David Gifford lives and works on the traditional lands of the lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples. He is a co-founder of the artist-run-centre The Ministry of Casual Living, est. 2002, and is a sessional lecturer of drawing and colour theory at the University of Victoria. His work is reflected in brush and ink, as a practicing magician, and the noise/sculpture project Puppets Forsaken. He builds Rube Goldberg machines in his back yard modelling the global, inevitable, cumulative and irreversible.
