David Steans
David Steans (b.1984 Stockport) is an artist based in Leeds. He is a graduate of Leeds Beckett University (BA) and participated in the founding year of The School of the Damned. He is a lecturer in BA (Hons) fine art at Leeds Arts University, and a practice-led Ph.D. candidate in the School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies at the University of Leeds. Recent solo presentations include: Deptford X 2018 Platform Commission, Deptford, London, UK (2018); Gruesome FX, Triangle Arts, Brooklyn, USA (2018) and Crime World, The Tetley, Leeds (2017). In 2018 Deptford X published ‘From the Lounge’, a collection of Steans’ short stories, and his writing has been included in The Graveside Orations of Carl Einstein (2019), published by Ma Bibliotheque and Cadavere Quotidiano (2014), published by Project X Foundation for Art & Criticism.
