Deborah Littlejohn
Deborah Littlejohn is a design researcher and faculty in the College of Design at North Carolina State University, developing coursework in graphic design history, design research methods and studio. By examining the tools and technologies through which people experience design, Dr Littlejohn’s work is guided by questions that seek understanding of the relationship between design, new information environments, data literacy, and the ability of people learn and take action. Most recently, she co-authored ‘The culture of practice: Design-based teaching and learning’ in Taking Design Thinking to School (Routledge, 2017). She serves as a founding editorial board member of the AIGA journal Dialectic and as a review editor for Journal of Communication Design. Deborah has contributed to numerous design-related publications, including Architectural Research Methods (John Wiley & Sons), Design Issues and Design & Culture, as well as received recognition for professional work, such as from ID Magazine, Print, ACD100 Show, AIGA Annual and Graphis.
