Deborah Madden is a postdoctoral fellow at the Instituto de Investigaciones Feministas, Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Her current project, funded by a Leverhulme Trust Fellowship, examines sexual violence in contemporary Spain, and she was awarded the 2019–20 AHGBI-WISPS Dorothy Sherman-Severin Fellowship to conduct research for a monograph on the socialist politician Matilde de la Torre (1884–1946), which is due for publication with Legenda’s ‘Studies in Hispanic and Lusophone Cultures’ Series in 2022.
