Deidra W. Arrington

Deidra W. Arrington joined the VCUarts fashion faculty in 2004. Her areas of research include the luxury market, innovative teaching methods and historical fashion icons. She is the co-author of Fashionomics (Pearson, 2013) and a chapter contributor to numerous publications. Arrington’s research has been published in several peer-reviewed journals including Fashion, Style & Popular Culture, Film, Fashion, & Consumption and Catwalk: The Journal of Fashion, Beauty, and Style. Prior to her VCU academic appointment, Arrington worked in the fashion industry as an apparel buyer and divisional merchandise manager. She possesses extensive knowledge of the fashion industry, particularly retail buying. Arrington earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration at Jacksonville State University and an MBA at Virginia Commonwealth University.
