Dejan Grba

Dejan Grba is an artist, researcher and educator. Dejan holds a doctoral degree and a master’s in fine arts from University of the Arts Belgrade. Informed by computer science, physics, biology and cognitive sciences, his research addresses the conceptual, cognitive, technological, ethical and socio-political aspects of contemporary arts and culture. He has had numerous solo shows, group exhibitions, festivals and curatorial projects in venues such as ZKM Karlsruhe, Wrong Biennale, Supermedium Hague, Museum in Progress Vienna, ISEA, GfZK Leipzig, IFA Berlin and Rotor Graz; Montevideo Amsterdam, Ravenna Museum of Art, Wrocław Drawing Triennial, MoCA Belgrade, Pro Arts Oakland, etc. His publication portfolio includes contributions to peer-reviewed journals (Leonardo/MIT Press), edited volumes (Routledge) and conference proceedings. Dejan has served as a co-founding associate professor with digital art programme at Interdisciplinary Graduate Centre, University of the Arts in Belgrade since 2005, and as a founding chair and associate professor at New Media Department, Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade from 1998 to 2020. In 2019 and 2020 Dejan was a visiting associate professor at the School of Art Design and Media, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. In 2007, he was a guest assistant professor at the Computer Art Program in the College of Visual and Performing Arts, Syracuse University.
