Dennis D. Cali

Dennis D. Cali (Ph.D., Louisiana State University) is a distinguished professor of arts and sciences at the University of Texas at Tyler. He is the recipient of the Louis Forsdale Award for Outstanding Educator in the field of media ecology; the President’s Scholarly Achievement Award at the University of Texas at Tyler; and the Media Ecology Association’s Top Paper Award for his essay on ‘The sacramental view of Marshall McLuhan, Walter Ong, and James Carey’, which appears in the Explorations in Media Ecology journal. He is also the author of Mapping Media Ecology: Introduction to the Field (Peter Lang Inc., 2017), two other books and numerous scholarly articles in communication journals. He teaches in the areas of media ecology, rhetorical criticism, political communication and religious communication. His primary research interest areas are in media ecology and in religious and sacramental communication.
