Derek Miller is a Ph.D. candidate in Drama at Stanford University, where his dissertation focuses on nineteenth-century theatre and music copyright law. His essay on Oklahoma! appeared in this journal, a review of West Side Story was published in Theater Journal and an article on piano performance recently appeared in Contemporary Theatre Review.
