Dilys Leman
Dilys Leman lives in Tkaronto (Toronto) and is of English and Welsh settler ancestry. Her full-length collection, The Winter Count (The Hugh MacLennan Poetry Series, McGill-Queen’s University Press), features historical figures, including her great-great grandfather. The poems juxtapose colonial and Indigenous views on events leading up to the 1885 North-West Resistance and its tragic consequences.
