Dom Holdaway

Dom Holdaway is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bologna, Italy, in the Department of Arts. He is currently collaborating on a state-funded research project (PRIN) on the circulation of Italian film abroad, and previously contributed to an analysis of public film funding systems in Italy. His research interests are centred on Italian film and its history, and in particular issues of politics, representation and reception. He has published in this area on political film and cultural legitimacy, crisis and historiography, queer film, urban space and the cultural politics of film funding. Most recently he co-authored the volume ‘The Walking Dead’: Contagio culturale e politica post-apocalittica (Mimesis, 2017), and in 2013 he co-edited the volume Rome, Postmodern Narratives of a Cityscape with Filippo Trentin (Pickering & Chatto).
