Doron Altaratz
Doron Altaratz is an academic researcher, educator and visual media creator, who seeks to integrate his theoretical interests with creative practices. He holds a BFA in photography from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, an MPS from New York University’s ‘interactive telecommunications’ programme and a Ph.D. in communications from Hebrew University. His academic research spans various areas with a critical and practical focus. In the realm of critical thinking, he concentrates on the social dimension of human–machine interactions, specifically in relation to practices of computational photography. In the practical areas of historical and archaeological documentation, he utilizes diverse imaging technologies to serve cultural heritage contexts. Moreover, his artistic pursuits involve exploring 3D and virtual experiences based on photographic representations.
