Drehli Robnik

Drehli Robnik is an independent theorist in matters of film and politics, essayist and edutainer in Vienna. He gained his Ph.D. from University of Amsterdam. He worked as external university lecturer from 1992 to 2015 in Vienna, Brno and Frankfurt am Main, as senior researcher at Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for History and Society, Vienna, as music event organizer and singer. He is the author of German-language monographs on horror film’s insight into Post-Fordist control power (2015), on Jacques Rancière’s dissensual film theory (2010) and on politics of affect in films on anti-nazi resistance (2009) (all published by Turia+Kant); he is the editor of the film writings of historian Siegfried Mattl (2016), co-editor of German-language volumes on Kracauer (2013), Rancière (2010), war in cinema (2005), historical epics (2002) and David Cronenberg (1992).
