Dwayne Avery

Dwayne Avery is assistant professor and liaison for the Communication Studies Programme at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. His research explores Anthropocene narratives in new media, especially the revival of motherhood representations in environmental thinking. His forthcoming chapter, ‘The maternalocene: The in/fertility of mother nature in post-apocalyptic narrative’, will be published by Demeter Press. He is the author of Unhomely Cinema: Home and Place in Global Cinema.
