Ebru Yetiskin

Ebru Yetiskin is an independent curator, sociologist and a media theorist who works on the interaction of science, technology, art and politics. She has been a full-time researcher in The Institute of Social Sciences, Istanbul Technical University since 2003. She studied cinema (BA) at Istanbul University, science, technology and society (STS) at University of Louis Pasteur and Istanbul Technical University (MA) and sociology at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. As a visiting scholar during her Ph.D., she worked with Antoine Hennion and Bruno Latour in Écoles des Mines de Paris, Centre for Sociology of Innovation. In 2010, she edited the first publication on ‘postcolonial thought’ in Turkey. The Higher Education Council in Turkey granted her as associate professor in 2015. She curated exhibitions entitled, Cacophony (2013), Code Unknown (2014), Waves (2015), Contagious Bodies (2015), Illusionoscope (2017) and Interfaces (2018). She also curated the Plugin New Media Section of Contemporary Istanbul (2015) and Dystopie Sound Art Festival, Berlin. She organized public talks and workshops, such as ‘Network politics in data driven worlds’ (2015–16), ‘Today’s art: Yet another’ (2016–18) and ‘Science, technology, society talks’ (2018–present). Recently she edited a book of poetry, Like The Others, written by an AI, Deniz Yılmaz, and curated its autograph session at the Istanbul Art and Book Fair.
