Ece Canlı
Ece Canlı is a researcher and artist whose work intersects body politics and gendered reproduction of material regimes. Holding a Ph.D. in design from the University of Porto (PT), she is currently a full-time researcher at the Communication and Society Research Centre (CECS) in the cultural studies cluster at the University of Minho (PT), where she investigates spatio-material and technological conditions of the criminal justice system, queer incarceration, penal design and abolition feminism. Her artistic work explores counterfactual narrativities and extralinguistic expressions, practised by extended vocal techniques, sound and performance.
