Edward A. Shannon

Edward A. Shannon is professor of literature and former convener of literature at Ramapo College, NJ, where he teaches American literature. He frequently writes about American folksinger Woody Guthrie and was named 2005 Woody Guthrie fellow by the Guthrie foundation. He has also published on Mark Twain, Patricia Highsmith and comic books and strips, including George Herriman’s Krazy Kat, Art Spiegelman’s Maus, Winsor McCay’s Little Nemo in Slumberland and Robert Crumb’s autobiographical comics. He has two sons and lives with his wife Kathleen in Warwick, New York.
