Eleonora Asparuhova

Eleonora Asparuhova is a Liverpool-based 2D animator and illustrator originally from Bulgaria. A holder of the 2013 Art and Humanities Research Council Master Preparation Award in animation, Eleonora completed her master’s degree in animation at the University of Salford, UK, in 2015 and since then has created numerous animated shorts as a director, producer and animator, including The Orange Song (2020), Song of Man (2015) and Samovila (2013) that have successfully entered the festival circles both in the UK and internationally. Her films have been screened at the World Festival of Animated Film, VARNA, KINOFEST, Thessaloniki Animation Festival, Screentest Animation Festival, ‘TOFUZI’ International Animation Festival, Athens ‘Animfest’, ‘Golden Kuker’ and others. So far, Eleonora has launched four successful illustration exhibitions in the UK and Bulgaria and has worked with animation studios and illustration agencies internationally as a freelance animator, illustrator and concept artist. Currently a lecturer in animation at the School of Digital Arts (SODA), Manchester Metropolitan University, Eleonora is also the co-founder and festival director of the Celtic Animation Film Festival in Liverpool, UK.
