Eliecer Arenas
Eliecer Arenas is a professor and a researcher at the National Pedagogical University in Bogotá. He is a consultant and a speaker in the fields of music anthropology, music education and the relationship between art and culture. He studied social anthropology at the Complutense University in Madrid, music pedagogy at the National Pedagogical University in Bogotá and psychology at the Pontifical Javeriana University in the same city. He is a member of the inter-institutional research group CuestionArte (Category A, Colciencias) and co-author of several books, including Exercises of Culture 2 (Universidad Pedagógica Nacional 2015) and Rock al Parque, Ópera al Parque. Social Memory. 1995–2007 (Alcaldía Mayor de Bogotá, 2011). He has been a keynote speaker at the 6th National Music Congress (2011), the 11th Latin American and Caribbean Children’s Song Meeting (2013) and the opening lecturer at the 5th Congress of Academic Training in Popular Music at Villa María University, Córdoba, Argentina (2015). He also participated in the International Mission of Wise Men 2019 as a rapporteur for the cultural and creative industries focus.
