Elisabeth Scherer
Elisabeth Scherer is a lecturer and research associate at the Department of Modern Japanese Studies, Heinrich-Heine University of Duesseldorf. Her areas of research interest include popular culture, rituals and religion in contemporary Japan, and gender studies. Within these fields, she has published on themes such as ghosts in Japanese cinema, Japanese weddings, images of Japan in western cinema, and asadora tourism.
