Elizabeth Castaldo Lundén

Elizabeth Castaldo Lundén holds a Ph.D. in fashion studies from Stockholm University, an MA in cinema studies from the same institution and a BA in public relations from UADE. Her research looks into the role of Hollywood in the global circulation of cultural and economic capital that contributed to the development of an international fashion scene. Her doctoral dissertation, ‘Fashioning the red-carpet: From the Roosevelt Hotel to international media’ is a historical study of the Academy Awards’ red-carpet phenomenon and its cultural significance as a fashion show. Lundén has published and presented in international conferences, addressing fashion and film, costume design, Hollywood history and celebrity culture. She is currently teaching at the Department of Media Studies, Stockholm University, and working on a book manuscript for Edinburgh University Press.
