Elizabeth Ellison
Associate Professor Elizabeth Ellison is the dean of Research for the Creative Academic Unit at University of South Australia. She has led projects worth nearly $4 million across Queensland and South Australia, working closely with local councils, state government and various arts organizations. These projects have been diverse, including delivering public art trails in remote Queensland, sector consultations and developing a micro-credential package for arts businesses. Liz established the ‘Applied Arts and Regional Communities’ cluster for the Centre for Research in Equity and Advancement of Teaching and Education at CQUniversity, where she remains an adjunct. Liz’s doctoral thesis was an examination of textual representations of the Australian beach, and her interest in Australian popular and cultural texts has continued through her varied publications, including a recent foray into beach soccer history with a co-authored book published by Routledge (McGowan, Ellison and Lastella 2023).
