Emily A. Margolis

Emily A. Margolis is curator of American women’s history at the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum and Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory. She is broadly interested in the cultural history of spaceflight, which she examined through the lens of travel and leisure in her 2019 dissertation, ‘Space travel at 1G: Space tourism in Cold War America’. The Popular Culture Association awarded this work its 2020 Best Dissertation Prize.
